Chiltern Safari Food and Drink day tour - 17th October 2026

Sat 17 Oct 2026 9:30 AM - 4:15 PM Chilterns Landscape

This is a full day all-inclusive, immersive Chilterns experience. A great opportunity to explore the stunning landscape and nature, while being introduced to the talented local food and drinks artisans.

You will be able to taste the produce and learn about the each artisan's craft. The day begins with a 45 min guided nature walk, followed by a visit to 3 artisans, lunch and transport with an opportunity to purchase produce at each venue.

This is the first of its kind, a unique way to immerse yourself in nature and meet local artisans while tasting their produce. It is an all-inclusive full day of activities, curated for anyone that would like to explore the Chilterns' best sights and tastes in a different way.

After being picked up from nearby to Amersham Railway Station, the first stop is a guided nature walk with the Jon Mason - @theearlybirder. Jon will be sharing his knowledge about the seasonal fauna and flora on this gentle 40 minute stroll where we will be looking out for the Chiltern Gentian Flower, Chiltern Blue and Blue Adonis Butterflies.

Stop 2 is an introduction Sourdough. We meet Kate, owner of Bramble Bakes, which is a nano bakery offering artisan loaves and workshops in Speen; the highest village in the Chilterns. It grew out of Kate's passion for sourdough and sharing her love of baking. She champions working with regenerative and heritage grains combined with locally foraged botanicals to bring maximum diversity into her loaves. Kate will be sharing how the landscape and the farming process is integral to her bread and something of the magic of the microbes that are key to a fermented loaf. There will be different loaves to sample and some of her 15 year old starter to take home if you are inspired to have a go at your own loaf.

Stop 3 will be a delicious 2 course lunch with a glass of wine at Oxmoor Farm. They produce stunning seasonal plates and are on a mission to make the planet a better place through food by shining a light on the way it is produced, supplied and consumed.

Stop 4 will be a wine and cheese pairing at the new venue of an established wine name in Amersham, the 'The Wine Place'. A specially curated pairing of 4 cheeses with wines from boutique vineyards. They're on a mission to make wine fun, friendly, and totally unpretentious. They are WSET-qualified, but don't come from a wine background and their ethos is that learning about wines should be exciting, not intimidating.

Please note that there is a maximum and minimum number for this tour - Chiltern Safaris reserves the right to move your booking to another suitable day, should the minimum requirement to be met.
